Catch a boomerang of good

Traditionally, on the second Sunday of December, Ukraine celebrates Charity Day. In other words, it is a day when you can and should officially do good, do good and be someone who is able not only to accept but also to give.

It seems to me that this day in December is not accidental. After all, December is an incredibly amazing month! First of all, at least because it is the last month of the year, the 31st day when you can remember beautiful moments, make plans for the future, write famous letters "Next year I’m definitely…", say goodbye to the past and run towards a dream. Secondly, this is the moment when the depression of the natural off-season goes away and a fluffy, snowy winter comes - a white page not only of mood, but also of life. And, thirdly, of course, December is a period when all of us, regardless of age, believe in miracles, look forward to them with trepidation and trepidation and rejoice in them madly!
We become children who, clinging with a frozen nose to the bright, festive, New Year’s window of the store, enthusiastically and sincerely consider their miracle, their dream. And nothing in the world can distract us from this activity: no wild frost, no sharp elbows of people passing by, no insistent phone call with very urgent conversations…

But still, we, adult children, have one very important advantage - we can to be not only those who are waiting for a miracle, but we can become the same wizard who will make-give-bring-bring this miracle!
No wonder someone once said, "Man makes himself." And if you want a miracle, you don’t have to expect it from others - you can become a magician yourself. Now we can begin to give many theoretical examples that will be designed to inspire. But I would like to tell my story of being transformed into a sorceress and perhaps not just inspire, but show by my own example that the boomerang of goodness exists and that life itself gives us a chance to feel like little wizards at least from time to time.

… It was Saturday - the long-awaited weekend! You could lie down in bed without jumping up from the audacious sound of the alarm clock, and wake up not in time, but when you get tired of dreaming. Opening my eyes and seeing that the room was inflated again with the dark clouds of November morning, I realized that the next portion of solar vitamin D shines only in the spring. I wanted to wrap my head in a warm blanket again, taking with me at least a kilogram of tangerines and my favorite cup of raspberry tea… But… "Great deeds await us!" - I tried to sing melodically, thus trying to somehow paint the gray palette of the morning and set my brain to perform Saturday’s list of actions.
The first of them was to resuscitate a new coat after it was deliciously rolled out of a puddle by a "good" driver right next to my house. And once again, painfully inspecting the dirty stains on the light beige coat, I went to the store for a set of powders, conditioners and stain removers.

Standing at the checkout, the phone rang, as always at the wrong time, when cards, trifles, gloves fell out of my hands… Switching the attention of my prefrontal cortex to a phone conversation, I automatically picked up and left the store. Only on the street did I realize that what I had actually come to the store for, I left safely and absent-mindedly at the checkout. But as soon as I scrolled through this thought in my head and turned 180 degrees, I saw that a saleswoman was running towards me, shouting: “Your purchase! You forgot! ”
To say that I was pleased to feel such human honesty - not to say no! My day then still became sunny! And that day I had a boomerang of good in my hands.

… December has come. On the first day of winter, the city was covered with a white frosty blanket of long-awaited snow. Great weather: would be a poet - wrote a poem, would be an artist - painted a winter landscape!

When you are full, well, in the warmth of winter it seems so, but for homeless animals it is the hardest test. For the vast majority - death, because hunger is added to the frosty cold.
It was especially cold that evening: the scale on the thermometer dropped below ten degrees Celsius. On my way back from work, I ran to the store to buy groceries. I wanted to find myself in a warm apartment as soon as possible, and when I left the supermarket I didn’t want to pay attention to the little puppy stuck in an empty cardboard box at the entrance. For the first ten steps, I insisted, “I’m not alone. Someone to feed. At the eleventh step, the thought pierced me: “And if not ?! Everyone is trying to shift the responsibility to someone else! ” A minute later I was in the store again.
Standing over the box and watching this glorious Fluffy eat awkwardly, at first I did not notice the other spectators of this picture - a young couple with a funny pink-cheeked toad. The young woman looked at the puppy affectionately, like a mother, then turned her wet eyes on the man. He understood everything without words - a few seconds later a box of shaggy love was in his hands.
Sometimes you can argue with natural selection! The boomerang was handed over.

… The next day, running out of the porch on urgent business, someone shouted happily into my back:
- Hello! Have a nice day!

I turn around and see a janitor grandfather with a gray and long beard, like the monks of the Athos monasteries.

- Thanks a lot! And have a nice day too! - I answer.

Should I say that all this day I had just amazing ?!
Sometimes I meet this grandfather several times a day, and he always tells me his greeting.

- So we greeted you today! - I tell him with a smile.
"Better a poor horse than no horse at all." - he answers seriously and a little sadly.

And he’s right! Absolutely right ...

Charity combines two words - good and create. And the good is the good (including the short message GOOD to number #### ).

Do good and be happy, wizards!
