Life. To be continued. Happiness out loud.

The voice of love is heard by everyone.

Sound is an integral part of life on earth. We do not even think about the miracle of the variety of sounds that surround us. The rustle of leaves, the chirping of a cricket, the crunch of dry branches, the noise of a downpour outside the window. How much more of what we hear every day and accept it as something that we have and will always have. Sometimes, we even despise this gift of God. And of course, few people are given to understand people who are deprived of such an opportunity from birth. And there are a lot of such people among us. Many live in absolute sound insulation all their lives. And someone manages to overcome the disease and regain the joy of perceiving the world not only with visual images, but also to hear all the beauty of its sound palette.

Recently we talked about a little boy - Artem Tashmatov. Constantly smiling, spinning in one place, interested in everything, the child became a favorite of many readers and donors of the foundation. After all, information about him spread on television, in newspapers and on websites.

It will be recalled that Artemka developed sensorineural deafness at the age of one and a half, reaching the fourth degree. And the problem was not just that he didn’t hear. The trouble was that he could not speak, because without hearing the sounds, he did not know what could be said and how it was done. Only cochlear implantation could save the baby - the implantation of a special device, which consists of two parts: external and internal. Sounds are sent to the outer part, which are transmitted to the inner part, which is connected to the auditory nerve. The sounds are then transmitted to the brain.

Turkish specialists were ready to carry out such an operation. In Turkey it was cheaper than in Ukraine, but still its cost was huge - almost half a million hryvnia. The family simply did not have such money.

With the joint efforts of readers, friends, partners of the foundation and Artem’s parents, the funds were raised fairly quickly, and a few months later Artem and his mother flew to Turkey for surgery. To readers, these lines may seem like a point in a little boy’s story. After all, the money has been collected, Artem was transferred to the hands of the best doctors and everything will be fine now. But for my mother, the experience is far from over. After all, for her, surgery for her son, albeit for the good, though extremely necessary, is still an event that makes her nervous. Deep down, she hoped that Artem would be able to avoid surgery, everything would be fine, and he would start hearing. Especially for a one-and-a-half-year-old child, this is a very big stress.

- I was always near Artemka, prayed for him during the operation and after. I was worried that he would easily endure and get away from the anesthesia. I even asked him in the intensive care unit to sing him a lullaby, ”recalls Lina, Artem’s mother.

But the experiences were in vain. The operation was successful. After her, Artem recovered quickly, new sensations burst into his life, he could not understand what was happening at all.

- After the operation, when the implant was first connected, Artemka was surprised, rather even scared, - recalls Lina. - He played with the pyramid, dropped it, it fell to the floor, making a loud sound. He heard it! He turned and picked her up. And I cried out loud, out of happiness…

Now Artem is getting used to life with new sensations. Now, of course, no one can say exactly when he will speak. There are still years of rehabilitation and active training with Artem ahead. But relatives do everything to make it happen as soon as possible, so that he said the long-awaited word "mom".
Artem’s parents thank everyone who did not pass by their troubles and extended a helping hand at such a difficult time for them.
