People rain. World Autism Awareness Day
Traditionally, on April 2, the whole world celebrates Autism Awareness Day. Its purpose is to draw public attention to the problem of early diagnosis of autism in children, because the earlier the feature is detected (the first signs appear in six months to a year), the easier the process of adaptation and integration of rain people in society; and disseminating adequate information about who the autistic people really are.
Not so long ago, several decades ago, autism was considered a disease and was identified with schizophrenia. In fact, this is not the case at all. From the point of view of medicine, the disease is one that has a clear beginning and end. In the case of autism, it is a condition that a person is born with because of genetic factors. Related to this topic was another misconception that these people allegedly "suffer" from autism - this is not "suffering", but another development of the nervous system or autism spectrum disorder. These people simply have their own peculiarity and, therefore, have a special perception of reality and the world around them. The world calls them "rain people", and I would call them romantics who, like none of us, embody the literary canon of "unusual heroes in unusual circumstances."
Rain people are extraordinary people: they have a photographic visual memory, a brilliant mind and are always attentive to the smallest details. These kids are surprisingly inquisitive and smart. Yes, they have some problems with communication and social skills, but at the same time they have an incredible talent to never worry about who and what thinks about them, but just to live and be yourself. Some of us need years of self-awareness and self-knowledge, some - the practice of psychotherapy sessions, some - a difficult life experience.

Here is what Yuriy Tykhy, a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences and a man of rain, says: “Autism actually means two things. The first is the type of brain with its pros and cons. I call this type EDMA - after the names of prominent people who were autistic: Einstein, Darwin, Mozart, Andersen. I consider the application of logic to all aspects of life and the lack of herd-hierarchical instinct to be the most important features of EDMA. Another concept of autism is the problem of inability and unwillingness to interact with others. This problem is common in people with EDMA, and rarely in people with normal brains. Therefore, there is confusion: the concept of "autism" is used both in the name of the type of people and in the problem that often occurs in people of this type.
There is also a problem with the concept of "socialization". There is a misconception that socialization is "joining" society, becoming like everyone else. When such a goal is set for autistic people, nothing good comes of it. They can’t be like everyone else, and trying to fake outward signs of "normalcy" only hurts. They do not want to "flow" into society, and even if they study some concepts without understanding the meaning, it will not help them in public life, it will only break them as individuals. I think otherwise. Socialization is the ability to connect with other intelligent beings. You can be different from others, but convince them that you can deal.
The problem of an unsocialized autistic person is that he does not know how and does not want to establish connections with others. It is difficult for him, because the usual pedagogy is aimed at the fact that the child will obey the adults and repeat after them. An autistic person will not do this - he does not have a hierarchical instinct. It is important to understand that communication is a game theory. This is a mathematical concept, for example, as in chess: you need to calculate everything a few steps ahead, and for the opponent to anticipate the best steps for him. The opponent is also trying to count your steps. In life, each player acts based on their goals and situations. And the situation consists of the actions of other players. It is necessary to count one’s own and other people’s actions a few steps ahead, because the interlocutor already has his own experience. "
