Rich charity

Forbes magazine, which recently ranked the 400 richest Americans, now names the largest philanthropists in the United States.

Each participant in the ranking of billionaires was awarded a certain score for charity: it was taken into account not just how many dollars each billionaire donated to his charitable foundations for life, but the number of grants issued by these funds and direct donations. The estimate was based on what percentage of the fortune was donated by billionaires. The leader of the list of the richest, Jeff Bezos, received the lowest score - one, as well as Larry Ellison, Elon Musk, Larry Page and Sergei Brin. Only 10 billionaires, including Warren Buffett and George Soros, received the highest score of five.

Warren Buffett became the leader in total donations: Forbes estimated it at $ 40 billion.Bill Gates, also known for his charitable work through a joint fund with his wife, Forbes USA awarded four - as well as Michael Bloomberg. Mackenzie Scott, who intended the charity "not to stop until the safe is empty", Forbes USA gave only two points. The same assessment was made by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, who promised to spend $ 1 billion on charity in April (a third of his fortune at the time): Forbes explained that it did not take into account promises, only donations already made.
Heading the ranking of US philanthropists Warren Buffett, he donated more than $ 73.5 billion to charity, mostly through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
2nd place in George Soros, he, according to the publication, spent his entire life - 64% of his fortune, about $ 15 billion of the

entire American list of Forbes, donated more than $ 171 billion to charity.
