Recently, the well-known Ukrainian free educational platform Prometheus has created a new interesting project with the eloquent title “You can do anything! The possibilities are endless! ” According to the developers, this online learning project was created specifically for people with disabilities to give all people with special needs a chance to study for free and quality online courses and then participate in the competition for vacancies in leading IT companies in Ukraine.
“The curriculum will consist of 2 main courses and 2-3 additional ones to choose from. Among the core courses, Harvard CS50: Fundamentals of Programming is considered the best computer science course in the world. The principle is simple:
1.Participants must register on the free Prometheus course platform for online courses from the list provided by the link.
2. For 14 weeks, under the mentorship of leading Ukrainian university professors and IT professionals, students are trained in online courses, take tests and complete assignments according to the program.
3. Project participants undergo final testing, receive certificates and the right to participate in competitions for vacant positions in leading IT companies in Ukraine, which will be held exclusively among project participants. Conditions for participation in the project are only two: the presence of desire; at the stage of participation in competitions for vacant positions, in addition to resumes and certificates of successful completion of courses, it is necessary to confirm disability with relevant documents ",- said the co-founder of the NGO Prometheus Ivan Primachenko during a briefing at the news agency.
According to him, the curriculum is fully adapted for people with disabilities, including visual and hearing impairments. The Guarantee of Employment of Persons with Disabilities is provided by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, which recently signed a Memorandum with the Association of Information Technologies of Ukraine and the NGO Prometheus.
"This is the first project of the Ministry of Social Policy, and it is a great opportunity for all parties, because we have many companies that are interested in employing people with disabilities. We even have an office space that is currently being built, adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. That is, people can work with us both in the office and remotely. "- said the Vice President of the Association "Information Technology of Ukraine" Maxim Pochebut .
Registration for the course began on February 5, and training starts on March 5.
Another good opportunity to learn interestingly and for free is for teenagers aged 13-17. After all, they have the opportunity to join the free program to promote science " Science Teens Platform ". It is a free scientific and educational environment for teenagers, where they can communicate with Ukrainian and world scientists, develop critical thinking, as well as create science-intensive startups and projects. Lectures and workshops in 3 areas are waiting for the participants: space, nature, man.
