Veteran psychological support program from the Future for Ukraine Foundation
The Future for Ukraine Foundation has launched a psychological support program for veterans and their families. The "Mental Health" program aims to help defenders adapt to civilian life after their time at the front and rebuild relationships with loved ones, while also helping the families of fallen soldiers cope with their loss with professional support. The program’s first stage was a three-day retreat at the Shelest country complex. Participants included veterans, their wives, and the widows of fallen defenders. The event featured sessions with psychologists, creative activities, and opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences. In total, 24 participants will receive free online psychological support. Veterans and their wives have access to 16 individual and 3 family counseling sessions, while the wives of fallen soldiers are offered 12 individual sessions. The program is being implemented with the support of the Pfizer Foundation.
