We are proud! Ukraine kicks off the European Wheelchair Fencing Championships with a gold medal




The Ukrainian national team was the first to secure gold at the European Wheelchair Fencing Championships, winning the mixed team épée event.

This was announced by the National Committee of Sports for the Disabled.

Ukraine’s gold-winning team included Olena Fedota-Isaieva and Oleh Naumenko (competing in Category B), as well as Yevheniia Breus and Oleksii Zakusylov (competing in Category A).

The European Championships are taking place from October 6 to 11, 2026, in Cardiff, United Kingdom. The competition serves as a qualifier for the 2028 Paralympic Games. Ukraine is represented by 13 athletes at the championships. In total, competitors from 14 European countries are participating in the event.
