What will the new school year be like: with antiseptics and without masks for junior classes

As September 1 approaches, thousands of students across Ukraine are preparing to return to school. But the violent pandemic of the coronavirus, which is not subsiding, and the quarantine, which continues to be extended, will clearly make adjustments to the educational process. We talk about how students will study and what rules have been developed by the government.

New rules for schoolchildren: with antiseptics and without masks for junior classes

The rules and requirements for the new school year in the Cabinet began to talk in late July. Even a few instructions were published. Thus, schools offered to hold more lessons outdoors, and indoors, cover the floor with markings so that students do not break the distance. But on August 25, at a briefing, the Ministry of Health presented updated rules for schooling for quarantine.

It will be recalled that the country currently has adaptive quarantine with the division of regions or individual cities into "green", "yellow", "orange" and "red" zones, depending on the level of coronavirus.

If all indicators in the region will be within the norm, the territory will be included in the "green" zone. In that case, if the region is transferred to the "yellow" zone, there will be a ban on visiting social protection institutions. In the "orange " zone is added a ban on the operation of hostels, tourist bases, restaurants at night, entertainment venues, gyms. And already in the "red" zone the work of public transport, shopping malls, cafes, restaurants is prohibited.

It will also be forbidden to visit educational institutions in the cities of the "red" zone, so children will be transferred to distance learning there.
We will remind that look, to what zone to carry this or that city / area, once in seven days, but in zones with the increased danger, quarantine can be weakened not earlier than in 14 days. In the
"orange " zone, groups of more than 20 people will be banned from attending higher education institutions (institutes, universities, etc.), but this ban will not apply to schools and kindergartens . For the regions of the "orange" zone, teachers will be recommended to wear protective shields, and in the "yellow" and "green" zones - just keep a social distance. Also, the Ministry of Health told about the new rules of teaching from September 1: - Students in grades 1-4 are allowed to move in schools without a mask or respirator;

- admission of teachers to work will take place only after the appropriate temperature screening;
- in case of confirmation of coronavirus in one of the students, the whole class should go to self-isolation and take appropriate measures;
- Dispensers and antiseptics should be in the institution only at the entrance, in the future it is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly after each lesson.

In addition, the Ministry of Health announced that a more detailed list of rules will be published soon.

What the MES recommends: lessons on the street and a flexible schedule

Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science published recommendations on what training should be like from September 1. The ministry spoke by default about the need to provide everyone with masks, antiseptics and do not forget about social distances. It is also proposed to change the study schedule so that fewer students are in school at the same time.

The Ministry of Education and Science recommends the following:
- if a student shows symptoms of the disease, it will be necessary to temporarily isolate him in a specially designated room and inform parents about it;
- you need to move and enter the school premises in a mask, you can not use a mask during classes;
- to minimize the movement of students in the institution - for example, to conduct all classes in one room;
- make a schedule so that classes in different classes begin and end at different times;
- if possible, provide outdoor classes;
- toilets should be antiseptic, liquid soap and paper towels;
- air the classrooms after each lesson for 10 minutes .

Staff in schools must provide masks at the rate of: 1 mask for 3 hours. And students with chronic lung disease, immune system disorders, diabetes are recommended to transfer to external studies or distance learning.
